Our History

1995
Founded Vision

Hema-Tec was founded by Brian Gangnier, a dedicated nurse who recognized the need to revolutionize acute dialysis services. He saw how hospitals were being underserved by existing providers and seized the opportunity to make a significant impact. 

1997 
First Partnership

Hema-Tec proudly secured our first hospital partnership, Bon Secours Hospital of Grosse Pointe, MI.

2007
Ownership History

          5 Hospital Partnership.              Hema-Tec was purchased by Renal CarePartners Inc. of Hollywood, Florida. Hema-Tec underwent a series of ownership changes. 

2013
Hema-Tec Returns to Family Ownership

     6 Hospital Partnerships.         Hema-Tec returned to family ownership after being reacquired from Ambulatory Services of America Inc. With a renewed focus, we were ready to elevate the company beyond its previous success.

2016
Our First Office

    7 Hospital Partnerships.         Hema-Tec officially transitioned from a home-based setup to a dedicated office space in Pleasant Ridge, MI, marking a significant milestone in our company's growth.

2017
Significant Partnerships

We expanded from 7 to 14 hospital partnerships in Michigan, allowing us to serve more locations and a wider range of diverse patients.

2019
Growing Our Presence Across Multiple States

     17 Hospital Partnerships.         Hema-Tec grew beyond Michigan, securing a new hospital partnership in Toledo, Ohio. This marked our presence in Ohio and reflected our commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare services across state lines.

2020
Adaptability and Resilience

          19 Hospital Partnerships.              In response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Hema-Tec implemented an emergency operations plan that ensured uninterrupted treatments and maintained all hospital partnerships. Despite the difficulties, we never missed a single treatment and upheld every hospital collaboration. Additionally, Hema-Tec proudly celebrated 25 years in business.

2021
Relocation

           21 Hospital Partnerships.            As our team expanded and business flourished, Hema-Tec needed a new home! We relocated to Clawson, MI. The new office offers enhanced facilities, increased space, and the opportunity for further growth.

2023
Recognition and Technological Advancement

   28 Hospital Partnerships.         Hema-Tec was recognized for Succession Success and awarded as the overall medium business winner by the MichBusiness Awards. We also integrated Nipro Machines into our services, staying at the forefront of industry technology.

2024
Awarded and Expanded

Hema-Tec was recognized as one of the best places to work in Southeast Michigan by Crain’s Detroit Business. We have expanded to 27 hospital partnerships across Michigan and Ohio, continuing our commitment to excellence in patient care.

2025
Midwest Expansion

       32 Hospital Partnerships.            We are excited to share that Hema-Tec is expanding in the Midwest, partnering with a hospital group in Wisconsin. Stay tuned for more exciting business opportunities and updates in the dialysis space!
